OUR YELLOW SUBMARINE

When I started talking about the COVID-19 crisis with our team, I used an analogy that I’ve often employed when navigating challenges: an aircraft heading into turbulence.

As our discussions evolved, I found another analogy was much more applicable – we were a ship, heading into rough and even uncharted waters. TENFOLD just rounded our 6th anniversary and while our team ranges from fresh in their career to seasoned executives, we as a team are actively mapping the routes.

LOOKING OUT AT A QUICKLY TURNING TIDE, I REALIZED IT WAS TIME TO BATTEN DOWN THE HATCHES.

But not so we could ride out the storm. During a crisis, leaders often look to maintain as much of the familiar to give us a sense of known, but this mentality can be limiting. Instead, TENFOLD needed to embrace new thinking to transform from plane to ship to submarine so that we could glide under the rough waters above, finding a sense of calm and confidence beneath the surface.

CONDENSING OUR VESSEL WITHOUT SACRIFICING OUR CREW BECAME THE NEXT HURDLE.

We’ve had the hard conversations like eliminating discretionary spending and temporary team-wide reduction in salaries – but as a team, we were willing to make the adjustments to keep us together and operate at full capacity and creativity.

While this new reality, of course, has its challenges and discomforts, we are leveraging new technology, thinking new thoughts when it comes to how we create for our clients and will weather this storm together. We've shared a few laughs over The Beatles’ Yellow Submarine – “Everyone of us has all we need... in our yellow submarine..."

Full speed ahead!
